Facing direction

Placing the desk
- Sit with a solid wall behind you rather than a window or door — it gives a sense of support.
- Avoid sitting directly under a beam.
- Keep the desk rectangular, uncluttered and clean at the end of each day.
- Heavy cupboards and files are best kept towards the south or west walls.
Light and colours
Natural light from the north or east is ideal. Soft, light colours — cream, light green, light yellow — keep the room calm. Keep electronic items and wires tidy; tangled cables are considered disturbing to the flow of the room.
