Yellow Sapphire — Pukhraj — is the gemstone of Jupiter (Guru or Brihaspati), the great benefic of Vedic astrology. Jupiter governs wisdom, teachers, children, dharma, wealth and, in a woman's chart, the husband.
Why it is so popular
Because Jupiter is naturally benefic, Pukhraj is often associated with growth, good judgement, education and marital harmony. It is commonly discussed for Sagittarius and Pisces (the signs Jupiter rules) and for ascendants where Jupiter is a friendly planet.
